Waters UPLC/SFC 1- and 2D System

Analytical UPLC and SFC from Waters

Waters Heartcutting 2D UPLC/SFC-MS

Designed for cutting edge and high throughput separations of organic materials, this system is capable for analyzing anything from single samples to 384 well plates. Two dimensional separation allows for rapid analysis of complex mixtures, including chiral samples, without prior use of a flash system and gives flexibility for achiral separations of complex mixtures. Both dimensions (UPLC and SFC) can be used independently if straightforward separation is all that is required. More information about available columns and what they can be used for can be found here.

Acquity I-class UHPLC

Built for reverse-phase separations with a diode array detector. Good for rapid, routine separations using the included C18 column. Other column chemistries may be available upon request. This system also includes an analytical fraction collector. In this way, efficient method development on the UPC2 can be achieved by first collecting fractions from the I-class and injecting from the fraction directly onto the UPC2.

Acquity UPC2

Using carbon dioxide and a cosolvent (usually methanol, ethanol, or isopropanol), this system excels at chiral separations. If needed, it can also be used for achiral separations where typical LC chemistries have failed. The UPC2 is fitted with an expanded column oven with space for up to 8 columns. Column chemistries available include:

  • Waters Torus BEH achiral column

  • Waters Torus 2-PIC achiral column

  • Waters Torus DEA achiral column

  • Waters Torus Diol achiral column

  • Waters Trefoil Amy1 coated chiral column

  • Waters Trefoil CEL1 coated chiral column

  • Waters Trefoil CEL2 coated chiral column

  • Chiral Technologies IA immobilized column

  • Chiral Technologies IBN immobilized column

  • Chiral Technologies IC immobilized column

  • Chiral Technologies IG immobilized column

Peak identification is facilitated by a low-resolution single quad mass spectrometer and a diode array detector.
